The Grain of Salt of Château Mercier

 

Guérande salt from Brittany, infused with Château Mercier red wine. Guérande salt is a natural sea salt that has been harvested in the Guérande region for hundreds of years.

Guérande is a medieval town located on the Atlantic coast of France.

Serve with: Grain de sel is a finishing salt, perfect for sprinkling on mashed potatoes, green beans or creamy spinach. It is also excellent on your freshly sautéed scallops and grilled white fish. The most traditional method is to sprinkle it on the ribs, grilled with wooden vines (vine shoots).

Ingredients: Guérande salt, red wine Malbec, Merlot, Cab, Château Mercier aged 12 months in barrels and Bordeaux sun.

 

Sparkling grape juice or not from Château Mercier

 

Natural Merlot or Cabernet Franc juice, with no added sugar, without the wines of the Château Mercier vineyard. This non-alcoholic drink was created at Mercier for Martine’s country breakfast and for all our B & B guests, friends and family.

Serve during: family events, afternoon tea, refreshing during the summer. It’s like the best non-alcoholic champagne for your kids!

Ingredients: Pasteurized grape juice from Chateau Mercier Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes. NO coloring, NO preservatives

Grape jam

The grape jam of Château Mercier is home-made and comes from a traditional recipe

From grapes from the family vineyard. The jam is made by Martine Chéty, Isabelle and Christophe’s mother, at first to please the family and the guests of the B&Bs and gites, but it is now used by famous chefs. The grapes are slowly cooked for hours in a traditional copper pot.

Serve with: perfect on a slice of bread for breakfast or mixed into your yogurt. Spread on your waffles, pancakes or French toast, add the jam to your cheese board. It is perfect with fresh or light cheese. It can also flavor your duck or chicken sauce.

Ingredients: Château Mercier Cabernet grapes, Merlot, cane sugar, pectin and lemon juice.
